Our Story
We are originally from Guatemala, in Guatemalan culture, it is common to have a cup of coffee in the afternoons with a piece of bread, sharing the table with the whole family and anyone visiting the house. It’s a gesture of gratitude to our visitors, share ideas, jokes, and ways of seeing life.
After 15 years, my entire family moved to the United States, yet we preserved the tradition of indulging an afternoon coffee. Over time, the love for coffee grew so much that I made it my mission to explore coffee-growing lands in northern Guatemala, where I met the farmers responsible for one of the most important processes for enjoying a cup of coffee. It was there that the idea of bringing that same coffee to the United States and sharing a bit of the goodness of Guatemalan coffee arose. I received very good acceptance from my friends and acquaintances to whom I sold the coffee by the pound, but never leaving behind the dream of having my own coffee shop.
After facing various life challenges, I met Jade, my partner today, with whom I identified a lot due to the same love for coffee. We began to gather ideas and efforts to start our own coffee shop, but before that, we had to learn much more to offer specialty coffee. We took classes, traveled, met people, and finally, everything we needed came our way to turn the dream into a reality.
It was a slow but sure process, and today, you can be the one who comes to our shop to enjoy not only good coffee but also a safe space where you can be yourself.
